Thermodynamic Study of Novel Fe-Mn-Si Alloys

With the emergence of advanced high-strength alloys for the automotive industry, the utilization of advanced high-strength alloys is considered for the replacement of existing alloy steels used in the automotive industries. To develop advanced high-strength alloys, there is a need to understand the thermodynamic behavior of the alloy systems. In this paper, the thermodynamic behavior (entropy, free energy, and enthalpy) of Fe-xMn-1Si (x = 3–5 wt.%) alloys are studied.
