摘要

Migraine, a complex neurological disorder characterized by recurrent and debilitating headache, poses a significant health challenge globally. This book chapter delves into the expansive realm of currently available interventions for the management of migraine pain. The exploration encompasses acute and preventive strategies, pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches, shedding light on the evolving landscape of migraine care. The chapter begins by elucidating the pharmacological interventions, focusing on acute migraine medications. Triptans, the pioneering class of drugs specifically designed for migraine, are examined in detail, along with their safety profiles and contraindications. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and acetaminophen, often utilized in acute settings, are also discussed, providing insights into their mechanisms of action and optimal use. Moving beyond pharmacology, the chapter extends its scope to preventive migraine medications. The exploration further navigates the landscape of emerging therapies, such as calcitonin-gene-related peptide (CGRP) inhibitors, showcasing the frontier of migraine research and innovation. Non-pharmacological interventions form an integral part of migraine management, and the chapter elucidates lifestyle modifications, behavioral therapies, and alternative approaches that contribute to a holistic treatment paradigm. The safety, efficacy, and patient-centric aspects of each intervention are meticulously examined to provide a comprehensive understanding. Personalized medicine, emerging therapies, and the integration of novel technologies into migraine care are explored as promising avenues for advancement. In essence, this book chapter serves as a valuable resource for healthcare professionals, researchers, and individuals grappling with migraine, offering a nuanced exploration of the currently available interventions for the management of migraine pain.
