User Privacy Data Protection Scheme in 6G Based on Decentralized Identity

With the advancement of 5G networks, user privacy protection in roaming scenarios has become a significant concern. Yet, the prevailing 5G roaming schemes exhibit security vulnerabilities, notably the transmission of extensive private user data during roaming and the susceptibility of centralized data repositories to cyber-attacks. This paper proposes enhancing privacy protection scheme in 5G roaming using blockchain and decentralized identifiers (DIDs).Addressing these challenges, this paper introduces a decentralized authentication approach leveraging blockchain and decentralized identity mechanisms. This novel scheme ensures robust user privacy protection in roaming scenarios by harnessing the power of blockchain for controlled, minimal data disclosure, thereby mitigating the inherent risks of centralized systems, such as single points of failure and potential data breaches. Through comprehensive roaming simulations employing tools like free5GC, UERANSIM, and Hyperledger Fabric, our results demonstrate that the proposed system guarantees high efficiency while providing strong security and resistance to attacks.
