Experimental Investigations of New Airfoil for Small Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine at Low Reynolds Number
摘要
In this research work, compact HAWT blades operating at low wind speeds were investigated and manufactured with low Reynolds numbers. Modified MAF airfoils were tested in an open wind tunnel at angles of attack starting from 0° to 20°. The new airfoil was constructed using data from previous XFoil, CFD, and wind tunnel experiments of low RE airfoils. Examine the performance of the following 10 airfoils at low Reynolds numbers from NACA, E, SG series, and MAF (mixed airfoil). XFoil software was used to analyze the airfoils for Reynolds values of 30,000, 64,000, 100,000, 150,000, and 200,000. The investigation covered tip speed ratios of 2–8 and attack angles of 2°–20°.
