Geoscience in the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties
摘要
In the over 400 years from the late Han dynasty of the warlords to the Sui dynasty which unified the North and the South, China was fundamentally divided, with either the north confronting the south or warlords establishing fragmented regimes. Against the backdrop of such social and historical conditions, Chinese geoscience did not stagnate, but was in constant evolution and had made outstanding achievements in some disciplines. An overview of seven aspects of the geoscientific development in China during this period will be presented in this chapter.
