Behavioral Economics and Its Applications for Energy Consumption
摘要
Behavioral economics regards human beings as “boundedly rational agents with limited decision-making abilities who fail repeatedly.” This chapter explains conventional economics approaches to controlling energy consumption (especially electricity consumption) and their limitations. It also introduces research on electricity consumption that applies the fundamental concepts of behavioral economics. We then provide an overview of energy and power conservation issues that must be addressed from a behavioral economics perspective in the future.
