Diatoms and Marine Chemistry

The roles diatoms play in the oceans which we have identified may exert significant influences on the accepted dogmas of marine chemistry, which have been established without knowledge of these newly defined roles. They include unrecognized behaviors and cycling of most terrigenous elements. Here, I introduce some possible impacts for rare earth elements, iron, aluminum, and silicon, for example.
