Diatom May Save Us: An Urgent Proposal
摘要
The role of diatoms in disintegrating silicate particles is revisited in relation to ocean weathering. Sprinkling fine silicate powder is proposed as a means of carbon sequestration. This would effectively harness the diatomaceous physiological action of dissolving silicate minerals. Some foreseeable risks of the method will be discussed, and a detailed protocol to ensure safety will be presented. It should be noted that this action will require persistent effort and patience.
