Weathering in the Oceans
摘要
Alkalinity, an important parameter for understanding the carbonic system, is explained below. To elucidate the relationship between silicic acid, total inorganic carbon, and alkalinity, a hitherto unreported idea of weathering processes within the ocean is considered as a possible mechanism. The feasibility of these mechanisms is examined. This process is consistent with the pH of seawater, which strongly supports this new interpretation.
