Study on Nonlinear CAE Simulation of Textile Bending

We investigated a CAE analysis method using Abaqus to determine the mechanical properties of textiles and garments, assuming that yarns and fabrics are nonlinear hyperelastic materials. We compared bending deformations of the plain weave with actual measurements based on the mechanical properties of the yarns. Furthermore, we compared the measured garment pressure with the CAE calculation. We were able to predict the mechanical properties of plain fabrics from the yarns, and homogenizing the anisotropy of the weave made it possible to predict the garment pressure of the garment.
