Novel Twisting Device for Ring Spinning Machine

摘要

Conventional ring spinning considered most versatile technology to spin all types of staple yarn. It can produce yarn from almost all types of staple fibers. It has proven to spin a wide range of yarn count with minimum variation and with high quality standards. The ring and traveller combination is used to impart the twist in ring spinning machine which exist since 1830 [1]. However, the limitations of ring spinning in regard to its spindle speed and productivity due to ring and traveller combination used to insert the twist in material. Practically, maximum delivery speed possible is approximately 30–35 m/min with today’s modern ringframe machines. Due to excessive heat generation by the friction between ring and traveller limits the rate of twist insertion in material resulting to limited production speed of machine. The use of ring and traveller combination also limits the delivery package size in machine. Also after certain limit higher ring diameter is not possible due to limiting traveller speed. To overcome all these limitations many novel spinning methods like open end spinning, vortex spinning, friction spinning etc., were come in existence. Even though these new methods of spinning cannot supersede the technology of ring spinning in market due to their own constrains of yarn spinning. So, this research work is focused to find alternative twisting method which can helpful to eliminate the ring/traveller system in ring spinning machine. The research uses a novel twisting unit which has separated twisting and winding zone. In this research other related constrains of ring spinning technology i.e., rate of production, package size and energy consumption is also taken in consideration with the help of novel design setup. The twisting and winding device is incorporated in present existing ringframe design by some modification of conventional design of ring frame machine. The new design can increase twisting potential of machine along with a bigger delivery package.
