Real Time Measurement System for Stab Resistance Fabric

摘要

In present days the personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, at every stage of life for human safety. The Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has to cover or replace every day’s clothing to give a certain level of protection against different threats. These textiles for protection determine an important field of research and are also one of the most growing fields for the industry. PPE should protect to a required level and maintain health, without affecting the natural movements. So, it means that good comfort is guaranteed, which encloses, that the PPE should be light and flexible and there should be good heat and moisture transport from the body to the environment. According to the PPE guideline, the PPE has to protect against all defined risks and should be suitable for the given conditions and meet the ergonomic requirements. The presently available stab resistance two problem has been identified that available composite materials are bulky heavy and stiffer, which find difficult to wear for longer period. The measurement system uses are stranded method (NIJ Std) which is not showing real time value as condition differs as per the event. Hence the objective of present invention is to prepare stab/slash resistance fabric by sandwiching of different fabrics. Herein the different combinations of the fabrics were formulated and bonded together by means of stitching The 4-layer, 5-layer, 6-layer, and 8-layer composite fabrics have been formulated. The textiles high-performance material plays important role in making such PPE effective, light in weight, and comfortable. The composite fabrics sample has been evaluated for stab and slash resistance properties in real time value. The composite fabrics have been tested with few necessary parameters like acceleration of moving dagger and impact load at the time of the stabbing event.
