Entropy of Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Sets and Its Application in Image Segmentation

To overcome the deficiencies of entropy of interval type-2 fuzzy sets, a new type of entropy of interval type-2 fuzzy sets is established. Influence of membership degree’s fuzziness and mean value on entropy of interval type-2 fuzzy sets is considered, and that the proposed entropy of interval type-2 fuzzy sets satisfies the four axioms is proved. The proposed entropy of interval type-2 fuzzy sets measures uncertainty of interval type-2 fuzzy sets comprehensively, which is used in image segmentation. Numerical examples show the rationality and practicality of the proposed entropy of interval type-2 fuzzy sets.
