The effects also created new geopolitical and geoeconomic changes depending on the severity of the pandemic and capacity of each country to respond to the crisis. The analysis of the data presented in this book revealed that COVID-19 affected developed and developing countries alike, and devastated major industries, including tourism, hospitality, health, education, finance and logistics and global value chains.
