Effect of Nanoparticles Concentration on the Lubricant Oiliness—A Review

Lubricating oil is a crucial factor in the study of friction and wear behavior of the parts during sliding motion due to its efficiency in reducing these parameters. Lubricating oil was also essential in minimizing energy waste in many manufacturing processes. Mineral oil-based lubricants are hazardous and non-biodegradable. Both the demands of industry and the well-being of ecosystems are perfectly met by biolubricants. This article examines the effect of nanoparticles that affect lubricating oil performance. More than any other sort of additive, nanoadditives are advantageous for biolubricants. Wear and friction are eliminated by admixtures of nanoparticles with different compositions. Investigated are the effects of chemical composition, grain size, and nanoparticle formation on lubricant characteristics. Dispensers and their effects are explored as well as the effects of lubricants and surfactants. The relative analysis of several nanoparticles in this work demonstrates the improvement in wear and friction that was made, as well as the least value of the coefficient of friction (COF). A better understanding of the functions of nanoparticles in lubricant oil efficacy is one of the three performance characteristics mentioned above when combined. To better understand the role nanoparticles play in improving the lubricity of biolubricant, researchers must first understand the technological difficulties they encounter.
