Enhancing Tourism and Hospitality Graduate Employability in a VUCA World Through Industry-Academia Collaboration
摘要
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to chaos in the tourism sector, posing a challenge to managers in effectively navigating the crisis. Additionally, the crisis has fueled the complexities of the VUCA environment (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) in which businesses operate. Hospitality graduate employment in a post-COVID-19 world is becoming an increasingly important issue as the industry expects new skill sets from graduates to revive the sector. Further, academic institutions are expected to work closely with the industry to enhance graduate skills. Therefore, the present study examines strategies for enhancing such skills critical for surviving the VUCA environment through a collaborative approach between industry and academia.
