  • Ayaka Hirano

摘要

Tay and Nung languages are both Central Tai languages, and Tay and Nung people in Trang Dinh district can communicate with each other in both ethnic languages. Consequently, these languages exhibit striking similarities when viewed synchronically. From a diachronic perspective, the initial consonants of Tay and Nung in Trang Dinh district are also very similar. However, they exhibit certain distinct diachronic features as well. The features of each are quite unique in modern Tai varieties. The differences and features between the two languages may show the process of the diachronic development of these languages more clearly.
