Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of 1,3,5-Dithiazinanes: Synthesis, Stereochemistry and Applications

This chapter reviews recent advances in the field of synthesis and modification of valuable 1,3,5-dithiazinanes, and their structural features and biological activity over the past twenty years. In addition, dithiazinanes are considered as polydentate ligands for the synthesis of coordination compounds. Systematization of approaches to the design of the target heterocycle showed that multicomponent cyclothiomethylation of amines with aldehydes, hydrogen sulfide or its salts is developing in accordance with the trends of green chemistry and petrochemistry as a method of neutralizing hydrogen sulfide. Analysis of procedures for the functionalization of 1,3,5-dithiazinanes made it possible to see further prospects for practical application.
