摘要

Biomass, derived from organic matter such as plants and waste, plays a pivotal role in the development of sustainable energy solutions. Biomass, a renewable resource, is characterized by its carbon–neutral nature, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional energy sources. Researchers have explored various biomass sources, such as agricultural residues, wood, and organic waste, to develop materials with high thermal absorption and storage capacities. These materials exhibit excellent heat retention and release characteristics, enhancing their suitability for solar-thermal applications. Solar-thermal materials derived from biomass represent a promising avenue for sustainable energy conversion and storage. This innovative approach combines the renewable nature of biomass with the efficiency of solar-thermal technologies, addressing both energy and environmental challenges. These materials harness solar energy and convert it into heat through the unique properties of biomass-derived components. Ongoing research in this field aims to optimize material properties and advance the scalability of biomass-based solar-thermal technologies for widespread implementation. The present chapter underscores the significance of biomass-derived solar-thermal materials in advancing sustainable energy systems, emphasizing their role in mitigating climate change and reducing reliance on non-renewable resources. As technological advancements continue, the integration of biomass into solar-thermal applications emerges as a promising avenue for a greener and more resilient energy future.
