摘要

Biomass, which encompasses organic materials derived from plants and animals, is considered as a vast and renewable resource with significant energy potential. Abundant and diversely found biomass resources include various agricultural residues, forestry by-products, and organic wastes. Classification of biomass is based on its origin, encompassing woody, herbaceous, and animal-derived categories. This diverse classification allows for tailored utilization in various energy conversion processes, such as combustion, gasification, and biofuel production. The energy potential of biomass is evaluated in terms of its ability to generate heat, electricity, and biofuels, contributing to sustainable energy production. Further, a clear understanding of biomass abundance, classification, and energy potential is crucial for developing environmentally friendly and economically viable energy solutions in the near future.
