摘要

Plant scientists have extensively studied medicinal plants since they are primary natural metabolites source with particular medicinal actions. Functional genomics is a field of study that uses knowledge of genome sequences to shed light on the biological systems function at different stages in nature, such as the metabolome, genome, proteome, and transcriptome. Many medicinal plants omics studies have been carried out to understand the bioactive compounds biosynthesis pathways and environmental responses regulatory mechanism, as well as to find the species molecular markers and functional genes affecting critical biological features. Here, we are talking about how key omics methods have helped us comprehend the processes that lead to the synthesis of bioactive metabolites. The basis and foundation for a thorough molecular analysis of many living events is provided by research into medicinal plants genomes, transcriptomes, and proteomes. Associated with metabolomics, it significantly encourages the use of modern biology and technology in medicinal plants study.
