摘要

Medicinal plants have been used to cure a variety of illnesses since ancient times, contributing to the rich tapestry of natural treatments available to humans. Medicinal plant-based nanoparticles represent a fascinating convergence of traditional medicinal plants with innovative nanotechnology, with enormous promise in healthcare and therapeutics. These small particles, with sizes from 1 to 100 nm, can be generated from diverse plant sources. Among the various nanomaterials, nanoparticles derived from medicinal plants have gained significant attention due to their biocompatibility, safety, and sustainability. The combination of medicinal plants with nanotechnology has created new opportunities with applications ranging from medication delivery to imaging and diagnostics, agriculture, environment, and targeted therapy. This chapter explores the synthesis and many potential applications of medicinal plant-based nanoparticles, highlighting their potential in improving healthcare outcomes and other sectors. The study employs that natural nanoparticles may be derived from various medicinal plants, including green tea, turmeric, and aloe vera, which have long been valued in traditional medicine systems worldwide for their restorative power. Despite their promising applications, several challenges in this field require standardization of synthesis protocols and quality control measures to ensure reproducibility and safety. This suggests an essential requirement of continuous research and development in this field to harness the full potential of medicinal plant-based nanoparticles and advance the field of nanomedicine.
