摘要

In modern era, blockchain technology is highly praised for all of its many benefits, including safe data sharing. These advantages have led to a rise in its appeal across several industries. The need for interoperability in the healthcare industry is a severe problem, underscoring the necessity of prioritizing patient-centered data over storage location. At the moment, healthcare systems are unable to communicate with one another since they each keep their own data silos. To tackle these obstacles, privacy, regulation, and scalability concerns must be resolved. By giving patients the ability to manage and share their data as needed, blockchain technology presents a viable solution that has the potential to transform patient data management completely. It also enhances data interoperability and transparency, enabling the seamless exchange of medical records among authorized parties, which can improve patient outcomes and streamline administrative tasks. Furthermore, blockchain ensures more efficient and transparent pharmaceutical supply chain management, reducing the incidence of fraud and verifying the authenticity of medications in healthcare Industry 5.0. This chapter highlights the broader applications of blockchain technology, such as its ability to improve pharmaceutical procedures, and explores the potential advantages of blockchain for medical research and healthcare.
