Nano-biochar Composites for Decontamination of Wastewater
摘要
From all over the world, researchers have been upcycling their local waste to investigate its potential in wastewater treatment, which has been a significant environmental challenge. The reuse of biomaterials to produce biochar combined with nanomaterials to decontaminate wastewater has been in a spot for many researchers. Biomaterials such as banana peels, citrus peels, different types of husks, and sludge were successfully incorporated with nanomaterials and showed a great effect in adsorbing and degrading different pollutants. In this chapter, we focused on the recent research work that applied functional oxide nanomaterials and biochar in adsorption and photocatalysis applications for organic and inorganic pollutants removal.
