Comprehensive Evaluation of Women’s Safety Solutions in IoT Environment

Women’s safety is a key concern in any community where many women face harassment, rape, molestation, and domestic abuse for societal or cultural factors. The community has adopted many IoT-based devices in order to protect women from harmful threats. This paper includes a thorough literature evaluation of research studies on women’s safety IoT devices, their primary characteristics, no of sensors used, wearables or not wearable and different machine learning algorithms. The review meticulously examines and synthesises year 2014–2023 research articles from reputable research sites. The results showed that pressure and pulse-rate sensors are most typically utilised to monitor women with safety issues. The gadgets also sent notifications using GPS, Arduino, Raspberry pi, GSM and Bluetooth. The IoT has the potential to revolutionise the way in which women’s security is ensured, by providing a network of interconnected devices that can monitor and respond to potential threats in real time. This technology can be utilised in a variety of ways, such as wearable devices that can track a woman’s location and alert authorities in case of an emergency, or smart home systems that can detect and respond to intruders. This comprehensive study on different objectives, first objective of this study is to assess the utilisation of various sensors and key functionalities demonstrated by Internet of Things (IoT)-devices designed for women’s defence. The second objective of this study is to examine the current advancements in technology utilised in women’s defence gadgets based on the Internet of Things (IoT). Which smart wearable used and sensors incorporated into these wearables. The fourth objective of this study is to analyse the effects and efficiency of decision-making algorithms employed in safety gadgets designed for women. The fifth objective of this study is to analyse dominating features in various studies on the basis of data collected by IoT-based wearable devices.
