China is situated in the eastern part of the Eurasian continent, between 3°51′N and 53°33′N latitude and 73°33′E and 135°05′E longitude, covering an area of 9,600,000 km2. The country shares its land border with several neighboring countries, including North Korea (1416 km) to the northeast, Russia (3605 km and 40 km) to the northeast and north, Mongolia (4673 km) to the north, Kazakhstan (1533 km) and Kyrgyzstan (858 km) to the northwest, Tajikistan (414 km), Afghanistan (76 km), and Pakistan (523 km) to the west, India (3380 km) to the southwest and south, and Nepal (1236 km), Bhutan (470 km), Myanmar (2185 km), Laos (423 km), and Vietnam (1281 km) to the south.
