摘要

Drought refers to a prolonged period of exceptionally dry weather that leads to a significant hydrological imbalance, resulting in a scarcity of moisture. It is a water-related natural disaster that has adverse effects on various environmental factors and activities, particularly agriculture. In China, agriculture remains the most crucial sector of the economy. However, the country has experienced frequent and prolonged droughts due to climate variability. In 2010, the worst spring drought occurred in Southwest China, leading to water scarcity in 7599 ponds, 564 small basins, and 744 streams.
