General Examination of the Ankle

Systemic foot and ankle examination enables physician to establish a precise and symptom-related diagnosis. Most of the structures are palpable, and specific muscle functions can be evaluated. After having a detailed history, the patient should be examined in sitting and standing position. Also walking pattern and shoe wear should be examined.
