Exploring How Cybersecurity Competitions Can Help Improve Students’ Practical Abilities in Cybersecurity

Cyberspace security was set as a first-level subject in 2015. Currently, 133 colleges and universities across the country have established information security majors. The demand for network security talents has continued to grow in recent years. Network security talents need to have strong practical abilities. With the development of cyberspace security, various security competitions have sprung up. How to use network security competitions to improve the practical ability of network security talents is an important research topic significance. This paper analyzes the existing problems in talent training, proposes reforms from four aspects: curriculum content, training plan, competition platform, and teacher ability based on the training situation of information security students in our school, and explores measures that can improve students’ practical ability.
