Micro Hydro Power Plants (MHPP) are emerging as major renewable energy resources. The MHPP also addresses social and environmental problems like population displacements, huge economic burden, risk of triggering earthquakes, massive biodiversity losses, etc. associated with the large hydropower plants. The rough terrains, landslides, heavy rainfall, and disastrous climatic conditions have always played a hindrance in electricity connectivity to the last mile of the Indian states located in the Himalayan regions in general and the state of Arunachal Pradesh in particular. Taking this into account a village called Gichi-Lomdak, located in the Kamle district of Arunachal Pradesh, India is considered for our present study. Though the village is abundant with huge hydropower potential the Gichi-Lomdak village and its nearby villages are facing irregularity in the supply of electricity for more than months. This research paper is an attempt to highlight the feasibility of MHPP in Tittie Koro. For the present study, considering different factors for the selection of a turbine, the Francis turbine is considered for the MHPP. Further discharge rate, velocity, and depth of the Tittie Koro stream are modeled using HEC-RAS to identify the best location for the construction of MHPP. Finally, the feasibility of the MHPP is checked by estimated cost analysis. The total generating cost of the MHPP and other plants are compared and also the profitable period of the MHPP is calculated.
