Primary Intraosseous Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of Jaws
摘要
Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is an epithelial malignant tumor of salivary gland origin, about 70–90% in sublinguial gland, 15–32% in parotid gland, and also in submandibular gland and other small salivary glands [1–5]. Primary intraosseous adenoid cystic carcinoma (PIACC) originating in jaw bone is extremely rare and usually occurs in people aged between 40 and 50 years [6, 7]. Due to the lack of relevant clinicopathological data, statistical data on gender difference is absent. PIACC occurs mostly in the mandible body (posterior dental region), presenting as osteolytic destruction [8–11]. When it invades nerve, it may cause numbness in the lower gum, lip and chin, etc., which should be regarded as one of the differential diagnoses of osteolytic tumors in the jaw.
