Dentigerous Cyst

A dentigerous cyst is a common developmental odontogenic cyst, accounting for about 20% of odontogenic cysts. It is also called a follicular cyst by the World Health Organization, and its prevalence rate is second only to that of an apical cyst. About 60% are odontogenic cysts in mixed dentition, with the predilection age ranging from 10 to 39 years old, more males than females, and the predilection sites are as follows: third mandibular molar area, maxillary canine area, third maxillary molar area and mandibular premolar area [1–8].
