摘要

Osteosarcoma of jaws is a rare tumor with high malignancy, accounting for 1% of malignant tumors of head and neck and 5–13% of all osteosarcomas in the body [1–7]. It is more common in young adults between 20 and 50 years of age, and the incidence in males is generally more than that in females. The incidence in maxillary and mandibular bone is almost equal or predominant in the lower jaw. The clinical and imaging manifestations are complex and diverse, with a high rate of misdiagnosis and local recurrence, and a 5-year survival rate of 40–60% [4–11]. The diagnosis and treatment are challenging, and the first choice of treatment is radical surgical excision [8–11]. Postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy and close follow-up are recommended.
