摘要

Cementoblastoma is a slow-growing benign odontogenic tumor which is derived from the ectodermal mesenchymal cells of periodontal tissue and contains cementoblasts [1–4]. Cementoblastoma is a rare jaw tumor, accounting for about 1% of all odontogenic tumors [5, 6]. It mainly occurs in children and young adults, with about 50% of cases in the age of 20 years old, 75% in the age of 30 years old, without significant gender difference. It is more common in the mandible than maxilla, and is prone to involve the mandibular first permanent molar teeth, and rarely invade the deciduous teeth. At present, the main treatment is surgery, which includes extensive resection of the lesion and extraction of the affected tooth. After surgery, it has an overall recurrence rate of 21.7–37.1% [5–7]. It is important to carefully select the surgical method for better clinical prognosis.
