Implementing IoT for Energy-Efficient Smart Street Light Management
摘要
Every city needs street lights because they provide improved night vision, safer roadways, and access to public spaces. Subsequently, street lights consume a substantial proportion of electricity. Even with sufficient lighting, the traditional street light system provides illumination from sunset to the morning with the utmost brightness. By automating light shutoff, this power waste can be eliminated. Other uses, such as residential, business, and transportation, can effectively make use of the energy. A street light control system with Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities and a solar panel can accomplish this. The primary objective of the smart street light management system (SSMS) employing IoT is to conserve energy by minimizing power consumption, lowering the need for personnel, and saving lives from accidents. SSMS represents one of the intelligent programmes that necessitate significant energy expenditures when constructing smart city infrastructure. Indisputable price reductions for street lighting are possible with smart management of the lights. The upsurge in importance given to energy conservation and routine maintenance has led to the emergence of cutting-edge technologies that permit significant energy savings, the utmost care for the environment, and a decrease in traffic accidents. This research paper's main objective is to describe the significance of a system for energy-saving street lights and to proceed towards creating smart and intelligent streets.
