Software-Defined Datacenter Network: Vulnerabilities, Threats, Attacks, and Countermeasures

Today, datacenters have evolved to become the backbone of modern enterprises with respect to data storage and processing. This poses a huge challenge to enterprises in the selection of appropriate software solutions that meet their datacenter needs in terms of safeness, flexibility, and scalability. In response to this need, the Software-Defined Datacenter Networks (SDDN) has proved to be an effective solution in addressing datacenter network security, flexibility, and performance. Broadly speaking, the aforementioned SDDN allows enterprises to create and manage their network structure through software as opposed to physical hardware. The increasing amount of data transmission and the complexity data network in datacenters has eventually prompted many enterprises to make SDDN the core of large-scale datacenter deployments. While SDDN provides significant benefits, it also presents a new set of security concerns that require careful consideration.
