Imperial Ware Factory in the Ming Dynasty

The Ming dynasty (1368–1644), with its sixteen emperors, spanned 276 years. It was the third major unified dynasty in Imperial China to last over two centuries, following the Western Han (202 BC–9 AD) and Tang Dynasties (618–907). In the Ming, a new department named the Imperial Ware Factory was established in Jingdezhen, which was bestowed by the emperor of the Northern Song (960–1127) and where once Ciyao Boyiwu of the Southern Song (1127–1279) and the Fuliang Porcelain Bureau of the Yuan (1271–1368) were set in overseeing the porcelain affairs. In addition to the new department, regulations for the imperial kiln were also made.
