Poverty Alleviation in Rual Ethnic Minority Areas: A Micro Perspective

  • Xiaomin Liu

摘要

Ethnic minority concentrated areas are underdeveloped areas in China and the main battleground for poverty alleviation in the country. The Chinese government has always tilted to ethnic minority concentrated areas in terms of poverty alleviation policies and project funding. From 2006 to 2013, the poverty alleviation funds allocated by the central government to the eight provinces and autonomous regions for ethnic minority groups increased from 5.15 billion yuan to 16.6 billion yuan, with a cumulative input of 75.84 billion yuan in the eight years, accounting for 40.6% of the total national poverty alleviation funds in the same period.
