Utilizing Aerobic and Anaerobic Mesophilic Fungi for the Production of Multienzymes

  • Surjith Ramasamy

摘要

Fungal multizymes play pivotal roles in nutrient acquisition, contributing to fungal pathogenicity. Mesophilic fungi, thriving in moderate temperatures, demonstrate adaptability to diverse environments. This chapter presents a comprehensive overview of fungal multizymes and their production and applications, emphasizing their multifunction. These enzymatic complexes, produced by fungi, exhibit a modular architecture, enabling a myriad of functions. Endophytic fungi, especially from the Ascomycota group, emerge as promising sources of industrial enzymes with wide-ranging applications. The molecular basis of enzyme production and screening studies for high-level producers are active research areas. The production of multienzyme complexes by aerobic and anaerobic fungi holds potential in biotechnological applications, including biofuel production.
