Regional Anaesthesia in Low-Resource Settings
摘要
A low-resource medical centre (LRC) is defined as one located in a rural area with people living below the poverty line and a lack of regular access to basic amenities and healthcare. As a result, there is limited scope for anaesthesiologists to practice regional techniques. This chapter deals with a basic introduction of the regional blocks that can be carried out in such a setup as well as the barriers for implementation of regional anaesthesia. The authors aim to introduce strategic solutions to this problem and encourage use of regional blocks in resource-deficient centres.
