Tourniquet and Its Concerns in Anaesthesia
摘要
Tourniquets are compressive devices routinely used for occluding blood flow during limb surgeries. They have their advantages of bloodless surgical field and decreased intraoperative blood loss but are also associated with physiological changes which become intolerable, especially in cardiac compromised patients. The various complications associated with tourniquet use have been taken care of by various modifications. The surgical and anaesthesiologist team must be well aware of the proper functioning and use of tourniquet to avoid any complications pertaining to it.
