Approach and Troubleshooting to Central Neuraxial Blocks

Central neuraxial block is a very commonly used useful technique for a variety of surgeries. Traditionally, it has been a blind technique and hence has been associated with several incidences of failure or inadequate block. Nowadays, with the advent of modern technology including ultrasound, fluoroscopy and other techniques, the troubleshooting during the administration of central neuraxial block can be prevented or overcome. This chapter describes the various technical approaches to central neuraxial block and some useful methods to overcome troubleshooting when it occurs.
