摘要

The objectives of the research were to determine the characteristics of nanocellulose from sugarcane bagasse and silver nanoparticles prepared by Sargassum sp. extract and to study the effects of nanocellulose from sugarcane bagasse with modification by the addition of chitosan, glycerol, and silver nanoparticles towards antimicrobial activity, mechanical properties, and contact angle. The nanocellulose prepared by acid hydrolysis method using H2SO4 47%. Nanocellulose modified by the addition of chitosan, glycerol, and silver nanoparticles. Silver nanoparticles prepared by ultrasonication method using Sargassum sp. extract. Nanocellulose modification was carried out to influence the antimicrobial activity, mechanical properties, and contact angle. Modification of nanocellulose was carried out by adding variations of chitosan, glycerol, and silver nanoparticles by coating on sterile gauze and solution casting methods to be applied as a wound dressing. The results of UV-Vis, PSA, and XRD test for sugarcane bagasse nanocellulose were absorption at 281 nm and 658.50 nm with sized 466 nm and diffraction angles at 2θ 16.3° and 22.18°. The absorption for silver nanoparticles at 421.50 nm with sized 86.8 nm and diffraction angles at 32.32° and 46.28°. The highest antimicrobial activity was obtained in nanocellulose with the addition of chitosan and silver nanoparticles. The highest in mechanical properties and contact angle were obtained in nanocellulose with the addition of chitosan and glycerol.
