摘要

The sediment behavior and reservoir bed changes of the Riba-Roja Reservoir, a significant water body in the lower reaches of the Ebro River, are investigated in this study. The study thoroughly maps sedimentary dynamics, particularly after significant flood events, using bathymetric data from 2007 to 2009. The derived Accumulated Sediment Volume (ASV) curve is a critical tool in calibrating the sediment transport model, providing insights into sediment movement and deposition patterns. Graphics Processing Units (GPU) parallelization is prioritized over traditional sequential code, revolutionizing the calibration process. This GPU-centric approach enables the efficient use of both AI and high-performance computing (HPC) cluster methodologies, with computational times demonstrating GPU parallelization’s transformative potential. The study offers a comprehensive framework for optimizing reservoir health and functionality in the Ebro River region by integrating advanced computational techniques with sedimentary data.
