Oxygen Injection
摘要
Steelmaking is based on the oxidation of elements to reach the desired concentration levels in liquid steel, among these reactions, the C-O reaction or decarburization reaction is the most important because defines the total refining time, produces chemical energy that helps to decrease the consumption of electric energy, produces CO to support a foamy slag and also helps to improve the stirring conditions. However, the oxygen injection practice requires optimization based on a C-O balance, high decarburization rates and minimization of iron losses. This chapter provides the fundamentals on oxygen injection and their practical application
