A General Review
摘要
Since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China convened in 1978, China opened a new chapter toward reform and opening up across the board. China has been vigorously promoting its scientific and technological development, making great efforts in catching up with developed countries such as the United States and many European countries. Thus a thriving new look is presented in every field of China and all walks of life in its society. During this period, the academic sector has also shaken off the previous stagnant and stuck status, starting to recover, develop, and prosper. Over the past years, China has been developing fast in its economy, science and technologies, humanity, education, and other areas, and the development in library and information sciences is no exception. The library and information sciences have been developing in line with the process of China’s modernization drive, adapting to the law of development and yielding plenty of fruits.
