Traffic Congestion Modelling Using Node-Based Parameters—A Case Study
摘要
Due to the rise in population and urban activities, traffic flow is increasing day by day leading to travel time delays. The time taken to travel distance on the road gives an accurate indication of the efficiency of movement of people and freight. This study attempts to quantify congestion on a busy stretch of road in a well-populated metropolitan city. It is done by dividing the route into segments and modelling the expected travel time by measuring the traffic parameters in each segment. The model can be used for better road network planning and management.
