A Novel Fast-Charging Approach and an Adaptive Control of Drives in Electric Vehicle Applications

摘要

The dual active bridge (DAB) converter which is a high-frequency power electronics topology is used in fast electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS) to efficiently transfer power between the grid and the EV battery, allowing for rapid charging with reduced energy losses. The conventional DAB converter for fast-charging poses challenges in managing higher power levels, thermal considerations and optimizing control strategies. In this paper, the DAB converter is modelled using the generalized average model (GAM) and the average output current linearization model (AOCLM). The effectiveness for EV fast-charging topology is simulated using MATLAB/Simulink, and the results are verified.
