Evaluation on Operation Management

Inadequate or poorly standardized operation and management practices can contribute significantly to dam break accidents and compromise overall dam safety. Effective dam operation management is essential for ensuring the safety, stability, and functionality of dams (Silva et al. in Ciênc Nat 45:e6, 2023 [1]; Zhang et al. in J China Emerg Manage 4(09):23–30, 2022 [2]). Developing clear and comprehensive rules and regulations for dam operation management is a fundamental step. These rules should be aligned with relevant laws, regulations, and technical standards for dam safety.
