摘要
Based on the statistics on the history of dam breaks in China, a significant number of dam break events, such as the Banqiao Reservoir dam break in August 1975, the Gouhou Reservoir dam break in 1993, and the Dahe Reservoir dam break in 2010, have been linked to the failure of timely gate opening, especially when overtopping occurs.
